Cycling Vietnam: North to South 14 Days

Day 1: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Departure at 7h30 AM

Non-Cycling. The transition from Hanoi’s bustling Old Quarter to the ethereal stillness of Halong Bay is a quintessential Vietnamese experience. Trading the saddle for a traditional wooden junk boat, you’ll navigate a labyrinth of over 1,600 limestone islets rising dramatically from emerald waters. This non-cycling leg offers vital recovery, allowing you to explore hidden caves, kayak through quiet lagoons, or simply enjoy a sunset dinner on deck while drifting through this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 2: Halong – Hanoi

Begin your day with the gentle flow of Tai Chi on deck, finding balance as the sun rises. Afterward, swap tranquility for adventure by kayaking through hidden lagoons and karst formations. Following your aquatic exploration, enjoy a comfortable transfer back to Hanoi. As evening falls, immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture with a traditional water puppet show or dive into the city’s vibrant energy on a guided street food tour through the bustling Old Quarter.

Day 3: Hanoi – Mai Chau

Escaping Hanoi’s morning rush by support vehicle, you’ll begin your ride where the urban sprawl dissolves into the dramatic landscapes of Hòa Bình. This 50km journey winds through the “white stone” highlands, characterized by jagged limestone peaks and lush, terraced rice paddies. Cycling into the heart of the White Thai ethnic community, you’ll witness traditional stilt houses and a slower pace of life, perfectly balancing physical challenge with deep cultural immersion in the mountains.
